Samye Institute is pleased to share that the Annual Vajra Claw (Dorje Dermo) Dakini Puja took place from May 10 to May 12, 2025, at Do-Ngak Ling Monastery in Chapagaon, Nepal.

This three-day ritual, part of the Seven Cycles of Profundity, featured recitations of the Vajra Claw practice from the Chokling Tersar and the Vajra Claw Sutra by the monastic community.

Vajra Claw is a wrathful female activity ḍakini, originally revealed by the Buddha as a powerful guardian and protector. She is invoked to safeguard practitioners’ homes, families, friends, and allies, and to avert obstacles that might threaten them.

The monks devotedly performed the puja which features sacred torma offerings, fire pujas, and visualizations in the tradition of the Chokling Tersar.

We are delighted to share a selection of images and a videos capturing the vibrant energy of this puja, the beautiful shrine arrangements, and the heartfelt participation of the monks and lay attendees.

We dedicate the merit of this practice to the well-being, protection, and spiritual progress of all sentient beings, especially our global Samye community. May Vajra Claw’s fierce wisdom swiftly remove all obstacles and bring benefit in these turbulent times.

The monks at Do Ngak Ling perform a one-day puja of Vajra Claw Dakini each month on the New Moon Day. The next opportunity to join in the merit of sponsoring this powerful event will be on May 27, 2025.

Rejoicing in your merit and participation!
