The annual Ocean of Amrita (Ngakso) Drubchen at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery took place from March 26 – April 3, 2026.

The Ngakso Drubchen was composed by the great terton Chokgyur Dechen Zhikpo Lingpa, and later practiced by Kyabje Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and adopted as one of the main annual pujas at the monastery and Nagi Gompa Nunnery.

The main purpose of the Ngakso Drubchen is to purify negative karma, restore broken samaya (spiritual commitments), and dispel obstacles – including for those who have passed away.

It is an intensive ritual in which the practices and recitation of mantras continue without interruption for 24 hours a day, for nine days. The monks take shifts to keep this ongoing. On the last day, the Drubchen concludes with the distribution of blessings, amrita, and tsok to all the monks, nuns, and lay people gathered at the monastery.

We rejoice in the merit of all those who took part in this profound puja, and pray that its blessings spread far and wide for the benefit of all beings.
